American tennis star Taylor Townsend was among some of the best performers in the junior circuit. The 26-year-old was away from the game for over a year while she gave birth to her son, Adyn. Meanwhile, she worked as an analyst and attended various shows to entertain her fans.

In one such collaboration, the American teamed up with the Grammy award-winning rapper Cardi B to teach her some tennis moves. Popular American singer and dancer Normani also joined as a special guest.
Taylor Townsend teaches tennis to Cardi B
Earlier this year, popular rapper Cardi B took up a challenge in the Facebook watch series. In an episode of “‘Cardi Tries’. She teamed up with Normani and tried her hands at tennis. She had an able tutor in Taylor Townsend to learn the basics of the game. The trio hit the court at the Burbank Tennis Center.
Later, Cardi B spoke about her experience on the tennis court. “It’s hard to see. I think I stabbed myself with my nails. We worked hard and got cut and I gotta lose the nail, then I gotta get him. We had a great coach, though,” she said.

It is interesting to see more celebrities attracted to the game of tennis. It will not only increase the popularity of the game but also give the added entertainment factor for fans.
Townsend reaches the US Open doubles final
As we have seen over the years, it has always been difficult to be back at full after childbirth for female athletes. Taylor Townsend also faced her fair share of challenges on her road to return. However, the 26-year-old finally regained her momentum in the US Open. Although she crashed out of the first round in singles, she did great in the women’s doubles leg.

Partnering with her compatriot Caty McNally, the duo went on a run to the final. Starting her campaign against the pair of Nuria Parrizas-Diaz and Arantxa Rus, the Americans registered an easy, straight-set victory. Further, the American duo kept strengthening match by match and cruised to the semi-final after yet another straight-set win. After a three-set victory in the semi-final, they met the Czech pair of Kateřina Siniaková and Barbora Krejčíková in the final.
After winning the first set, the Czechs came back stronger to take the second set. In the decider set, Siniaková and Krejčíková proved to be too good for the American duo and took the match 3-6, 7-5, 6-1.
