American tennis star Coco Gauff has made rapid strides in her career. Earlier this year, she made it to the final of Roland Garros for the first time. The 19-year-old later had a third-round run in the Wimbledon Championships. Playing in the US Open 2022, there were a lot of expectations from the American. She did well to reach the quarterfinals, however, she couldn’t go past Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia.

The heartbreaking loss did not stop Gauff from still enjoying the US Open. The 19-year-old recently tweeted about her excitement of watching a nail-biting match between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

World number four Carlos Alcaraz and world number 13 Jannik Sinner clashed in one of the most awaited quarterfinals of the US Open. In what we can call the match of the tournament so far, Alcaraz defeated Sinner in an enthralling five-set encounter. The big match had the entire world excited, and Gauff also expressed her excitement on Twitter.

Taking through the microblogging site, the American wrote, “This match is insane. I leave at 6am for the airport but I refuse to sleep and miss this. #Sinner #Alcaraz”

As the match progressed, Gauff was thrilled with the performance of both Alcaraz and Sinner. As it looked hard to determine the better player, Gauff said in her Instagram live, ” I’m gonna freakin’ cry for whoever loses this match. They both want it so bad.”

With this win, Alcaraz advances to the semifinal of the US Open. He will next face Frances Tiafoe who is soaring with confidence after defeating 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal in the last match.

Gauff had mixed feeling after the US Open quarterfinal run

After Serena Williams‘ retirement, the American fans had all their hopes tied to Gauff. The teenager was in excellent form and did well to make it to the quarterfinal. As she lost to Caroline Garcia in the quarterfinal, the American is having mixed feelings about her campaign.

While she is happy to reach the quarterfinals, the 19-year-old is sad to lose in a disappointing way. However, the American is still proud of her achievement and swore to come back stronger next year.
