Sisters Venus and Serena Williams are two of the top athletes that the United States has produced in the past two decades. They had the talent and, with the support of their father, Richard Williams, the girls made it to the top. However, after the two achieved immense success, Richard was always surrounded by controversies. Mostly it was because of his statements that used to irk others.

Back in the year 2000, when Venus won her first Wimbledon title, Richard yet again stirred a controversy with his messages. While watching the final game, he put on message signs. A few of them were understandable, a few were not.
Richard Williams’ messages
Williams started it with a message to his wife, who was in the US. “Hello Mrs. Williams, I love you and miss you,” it read.
The second one was for the spectators present on the court. It said, “The British fans are the best in the world.”
The third was about the chances of having rain between the match. “Oracene had time to get to the Final before it started raining,” it read.
The fourth one was simply Richard asking for cola. “I need an ice-cold Coca-Cola.”
It was all fun until now, but the fifth message portrayed Richard’s unique character. It read, “It’s Venus’ party and no one’s invited.”
Richard ended his barrage of messages with a compliment to the Duke and Duchess of Kent. “We love you, Duke and Duchess”
While the actions of Richard Williams left many people perplexed, he refused to comment on it after the match.
