Hip-hop is not just a style, it came as a significant change in the culture of America. And this culture has changed the music industry with more emphasis on lyrics and less on soulful music.

Chris Evert didn’t understand rap songs

In 2016, during a lighthearted interview with the tennis pro, the interviewer questioned her about the songs on her playlist. She cited several of the greatest 90s songs, such as Adele’s Hello, Selena Gomez’s Hands to Myself, and Elton John and Billy Joel’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

She stated that her song selection is a little old fashion. But she never developed a taste for listening to rap songs. She said, “I know rap is the in thing and my kids love it, but I don’t get it.” However, the 18-time Grand Slam champion has three sons and all of them are fans of rap music. But just like a mother, she cannot set her void with this new kind of music.

However, she believed singers like Elton John, Billy Joel, Frankie Valli, and Phil Collins are timeless. They have given the best evergreen hits of the time.

Evert’s own way of parenting

The American tennis champion had strict parents. It resulted in a rigid and traditional upbringing for the child with planning. The 18-time grand slam champion, who hails from a religious family, decided to be a soft-hearted mother to her three sons. She makes all efforts for her children despite being a single mother. She motivates other single mothers all over the world.
