Serena Williams announced her pregnancy last month through an Instagram post with her husband Alexis Ohanian prior to their appearance at the MET Gala. The couple became the talk of the town as they managed to outshine everything else at the renowned fashion event in New York. As a few months have gone by since that viral moment, the American tennis legend is being forced to make certain adjustments before welcoming her second child into this world.

As the superstar enters the second trimester of her pregnancy, Williams revealed her sacrifice in one of her recent tweets while using certain hashtags. But what did she give up?

Williams was indeed talking about spicy food here. The 23-time major champion is experiencing heartburn now due to pregnancy, which has forced her to give up on it.

She tweeted, “Ok it’s final. I have to give up spicy food #pregnancy #heartburn” last night. Despite not using enough words, Williams made her message pretty clear with those two hashtags.

Well, this is just the beginning, as the tedious pregnancy period will force the American legend to make more such sacrifices. However, Williams is always known to be a fighter and she will come through with ease. She has gone through the procedure in the past as well and with Alexis Ohanian by her side; she is always going to have enough support.

Challenging times ahead for Serena

This was not the first instance of Williams’ suffering because of pregnancy in the current cycle. Last month she tweeted, “2am pharmacy run for heating pad? I forgot about this #pregnancypains“. It was the first instance of her sharing the pregnancy pain publically.

Williams had gone through plenty of complications while giving birth to her daughter Olympia. Due to the blood clot in her lungs, Williams was almost on her deathbed. However, she urged the doctors to put her back on medications that stopped the blood clots. She would not want to go through all of that again and is expected to be better prepared this time around.
