Iga Swiatek, the polish professional, is currently in Indian Wells, portraying her best form. There, she spoke about her interest in reading. Post her quarterfinals victory she said, “I’m reading ‘The Great Gatsby’, but it’s pretty short.Yeah, I started it yesterday and I’m going to be done today. It’s not that fun because I’m used to really heavy books.”

Further, the pole went head-on against Simona Halep for securing a position in the finals. Even though Simona Halep isn’t an easy rival instead of panicking and losing her calm, she maintained her trust in herself, and, of course, completed her book.

Swiatek won the race to the finals and upon being asked about her views on the book, said, I finished. I mean it took like few hours to read it. Honestly I was hoping for something longer, but I mean it was like easy to read. I would say there wasn’t much depth to all the stuff that is going on.”

“On the other hand, when I read like that it is describing the Americans after the war and the confusion they have, I mean, made sense, but honestly if I wouldn’t read like the description and I don’t the opinions on the internet I wouldn’t even think of it. I mean, I have read better books, but it’s a classic so I don’t want to say anything bad. It was interesting. It was easy to read, and it was fun but I dont know if the ending surprised me or not, but we dont know a lot about him right, the Gatsby, so that’s the nicest part. There was all a mystery.”
