Coco Gauff is one of the most promising young prospects on the WTA tour. The 18-year-old rose to fame when she beat her idol, Venus Williams, at Wimbledon in 2019. Three years down the line, the American sensation has beaten some of the top names of the sport like Naomi Osaka and Aryna Sabalenka.

Despite Gauff struggling to find form since her title win at the 2021 Parma Open, she still remains to be an exciting player to watch out for on the tour. Having received stardom at such a young age, she is still trying to cope with up the high and lows associated with such fame. Recently, after one of her matches in Miami, Gauff opened up about how her life has changed after turning pro. She also spoke about how time management has become a task for her.

The changed life of Coco Gauff

During the interview, Coco Gauff confessed that the most difficult task for her was getting a doctor’s appointment. She also elaborated on how her mother left her on a limb. She said, ?I guess the biggest thing I’m scared of doing is making my own doctor’s appointments for once. I’m like telling my mom, I don’t know what to do. And she’s just leaving me on a limb!”

Coco Gauff is a highly mature player on-court. Even though she is just 18, the American player doesn’t fail to impress the tennis community with her on court demeanour. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case off court. Elaborating further on her off court life, Gauff recalled one of the instances when her mother left her alone to get the Covid-19 Booster jab.

“When I got my [COVID-19] booster shot. She just dropped me off and I was like, Oh my gosh. I don?t even know what insurance I have or anything! So yeah, I gotta grow up more.?

Gauff, who recently turned 18, ended by opening up on how she has been failing to make time for her personal works following the hectic schedule of the tour. She explained, ?I have my permit. I was trying to get my license on Monday, but I had to come here. Now I’m trying to get it before I leave for Europe. I need my license because I just want to drive to Chick-fil-A every day!?

After suffering first-round exits at the Australian Open and in Dubai, Gauff entered the Indian Wells as the 16th seed. Being a seeded player, Gauff received a first-round bye and started her campaign from the second round. However, her run was short lived as she suffered a third-round loss in the Californian desert.

Putting her disappointments at the Indian Wells Masters behind, the teenager seeking redemption, entered Miami Masters as 14th seed. However, following her straight-sets victories in the opening couple of rounds, Gauff suffered an elimination at the hands of Iga Swiatek in her Round-of-16 clash in Miami.
