Anhelina Kalina, the 25-year-old Ukrainian tennis ace is playing her best game in the ongoing Madrid Open. Although she is yet to claim a title, she is performing splendidly in this year’s clay-court season.
Kalina reached the final eight of the recently concluded Charleston Open and now will be playing Madrid’s quarterfinals as well. Further, she recently claimed her career highest ranking of no. 36. However, even though the Ukrainian is riding high on form, she hasn’t abandoned her humble side.

Anhelina Kalina Is Grateful
The audience showered Kalina with support during her match against the British sensation, Emma Raducanu. Post her victory, she thanked her fans for their cheers and said, “Thank you very much for all the people who came today. I feel the power, even in the moments when I don’t have the energy. I was feeling you. Thank you so much.”

Kalina outclassed the 19-year-old Raducanu in three sets, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 in the round of 16. She spoke to the media after her match and appreciated her opponent. “I want to give credit to Emma because I think we both played very good quality tennis.”
Further, the Ukrainian star added, “The match was great in my opinion. I appreciate in this moment I was maybe luckier, and I did better in the decisive points.” Emma, on the other hand, had difficulty throughout the contest owing to a back injury. Anhelina will next lock horns with Jil Teichmann, the Swiss tennis professional for a seat in the semis.

The quarterfinals of Madrid Open
Madrid Open is about to reach its climax. The clay-court event has presented some of the best WTA matches and currently is hosting its quarterfinals. First two people to compete for a seat to the semifinals were Ons Jabeur and Simona Halep. The Tunisian tennis ace out-classed Halep in straight sets, 6-3,6-2. She will play her semis in the Manolo Santana court on the 5th of May.

Further, Ekaterina Alexandrova defeated American Amanda Anisimova has secured her seat in the last four of the Madrid Open. The 2022 Miami Open semifinalist Jessica Pegula will soon lock horns with Spanish tennis professional Sara Sorrbes Tormo. Following that, Anhelina Kalina will face Jil Teichmann.
