One of the greatest tennis players of all time, Serena Williams, is saying goodbye to tennis. The 40-year-old was the face of women’s tennis for over two decades. Serena once revealed that she had doubts in her mind before going in with the slick black Puma attire on the court. “I was like, ‘I can’t go out there. Oh, my God, I’m so nervous, I can’t go out. I feel really exposed,” Serena recalled. The former world number 1 asked fellow tennis player Justine Henin if she should go on the court dressed like that. To this, she suggested going with a more traditional outfit.
However, the American still went on with the dress. “I felt so comfortable, and after that, I owned it,” she said. And the rest, as we know, is history.
Serena gears up for her last Grand Slam

Serena is all set to hang her rackets for good after the US Open 2022. The 40-year-old has played only four matches this year, losing three of them. Earlier this year, the 23-time Grand Slam champion returned to action in the Wimbledon Championships 2022 after almost a year-long hiatus. However, she crashed out after a first-round defeat.
Further, the 40-year-old signed up for the National Bank Open and the Cincinnati Masters. While she made it to the second round of the National Bank Open, the American lost her first-round match in Cincinnati. Playing against the US Open defending champion Emma Raducanu, Serena never really looked comfortable and suffered a straight-set defeat.
