Venus Williams has never been afraid to speak her mind on and off the tennis court. It was the same case when she was asked about apologizing during matches.
Venus Williams on being apologetic on the court
In a recent interview, several players were asked whether they feel sorry for their opponent when they win a lucky point.
To this question, many players responded about how they feel sorry sometimes. They even pointed out that saying sorry may be a courtesy, but it’s not always the case. You may feel sorry, but the others may not feel the same. The former world, no.1 Venus Williams, also gave a similar answer, “I don’t pretend so if I’m not sorry, I don’t say it.”
“If it happens to me, I’m excited. If it happens against me, I’m just pi**ed”. Williams has been open about how she feels since the very beginning of her tennis career. Williams exclaimed that “When I’ve said sorry on the court, I meant it.”
Venus Williams’ wild card entry

The seven-time Grand Slam winner has received a wildcard entry to the 2022 US Open. Venus, the 2000 and 2001 US Open singles winner, missed last year’s tournament with injury, and missed nearly a year before returning to the tour at this year’s Wimbledon.

To date, she has played in a handful of singles matches this summer, at the City Open in Washington DC, the National Bank Open in Toronto, and the Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati.

The former world no. 1, admitted she made many mistakes during her match against Karolina Pliskova in Cincinnati. Williams lost the match 7-5 6-1.
