Being a business owner can be daunting on certain occasions, even for someone as diligent as Alexis Ohanian. As the co-founder of Reddit, Ohanian must’ve spent years dealing with stress. And on top of that, he has revealed he was always concerned about what strangers thought of him. Back then, little did he know that everything was about to be changed with his marriage to Serena Williams and the birth of their daughter Olympia.

Alexis Ohanian, in a recent interview with Adweek, talked about a major shift in his life priorities. Due to his anxiety issues over other people’s opinion of him, he felt it was necessary to build a platform like Reddit. “If you’re building Reddit, you’re building a community platform in 2005, you actually genuinely have to care what strangers on the Internet think,” he explained.

However, Ohanian said everything changed when he became a husband and father. His perspective shifted dramatically following the birth of his daughter, Olympia. “I realized I don’t care,” Ohanian shared, talking about the clarity that came with fatherhood. His tone suggested a sense of liberation as he laughingly embraced this change in mindset.

While Ohanian may now be less concerned about public opinion, his focus on building a bright future for his daughter is stronger than ever. During another interview, Ohanian shared how proud he is of his smart investment to secure Olympia’s future. He revealed, “The smartest thing I did was I asked our LPAC, ‘Listen, I believe it’s going to help this deal a lot if I can invest 250k personally via a trust for my daughters…'”

This investment made Olympia the youngest co-owner in professional sports. She was gifted a share of the Angel City FC. At just five years old, Olympia also became a part-owner of the Los Angeles Golf Club, part of the innovative TGL golf league founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. Apart from being a pure business freak for his daughter, Alexis also loves spending time with Olympia – be it making pancakes or being on a vacation.

Alexis Ohanian and his daughter Olympia are best of friends. From making pancakes to enjoying quality time to even enjoying golfing sessions, they do it all together. However, Ohanian has never forced his daughter for anything and has let her decide what she thinks is best.

With his posts, he suggests that as time passes by, Olympia will become a humble human being and will appreciate the efforts that her parents made. “Olympia is not going to question everything Serena has done to make this world better for Olympia. I want to sit at that dinner table when Olympia’s a little older and feel like I’ve done my part, too,” Ohanian concluded in an interview.

From being someone concerned about public opinion to being carefree, he’s seen it all. And, it was fatherhood that changed him for better for good. Embracing his fatherly duties, he tries to become the best example for her daughter with hopes she will become a responsible woman.
