Coco Gauff, the tennis champion, dominated the April issue of Vogue. Shot by legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz, Gauff shined on the cover in a gold Michael Kors gown. In a rare double act, Zendaya graced the May edition of the magazine. Just days after the release of “Euphoria” star’s highly discussed movie “Challengers”, her stylist Law Roach made an appearance at the Cutting Room Floor podcast with the host, womenswear designer, Recho Omondi. While discussing several topics, the conversation reached a point where the anchor criticized Coco Gauff’s recent photoshoot.

Soon after a glimpse of the podcast started to catch air on TikTok, it caught the attention of countless fans, including Gauff herself. The rising star couldn’t contain her emotions after witnessing the criticism and therefore let her thoughts out in the comment section. “I understand your take but when criticizing please consider the people in the cover’s feelings. To say it wasn’t beautiful is a tad bit mean just say you felt it could be captured better.” she wrote, urging the host to not hurt people’s feelings while she dropped a perspective.

Things started to turn real as Gauff wasn’t just done with that. Her emotions seemed to be hurt enough as she dropped another comment, accepting that this statement raised self-doubts on herself. “I felt beautiful at first and after all the conversations I cried and felt like it wasn’t beautiful,” she wrote, giving out heartbroken vibes.

Accepting the fact that she isn’t a professional at posing, Gauff added, “I know I’m not a model or the prettiest but just keep in mind the word usage when criticizing.” She also said, “I know in the end you’re trying to advocate for better but I think there’s a way to do that without commenting on the beauty of the picture. Comment on the lighting, angle unflattering angle etc.”

The US Open champion’s comment marked a point where fans started to dislike the way Omondi disregarded her pictures. Seeing her suffer because of the disrespect, the official channel that posted the video seemed to cover things up.

‘The Cutting Room Floor’ confessed that they were criticizing how the images are shot,” not Coco Gauff

Coco Gauff’s comment may or may not have conveyed a stable message but it revealed one thing for sure: She was hurt! Examining the situation, The Cutting Room Floor‘s official channel dropped replies to each comment from the 20-year-old, in an attempt to make her believe that things aren’t the way she feels.

“You are gorgeous. No questions asked. I was speaking directly to how it was shot. It was more of a critique of how the images are shot but not the subjects themselves! We love you Coco,” Recho Omondi wrote, sitting behind the official channel.

As the incident came to light, it is sure that the WTA star had to go through a tough time emotionally. With several people coming forward to hype her up, it highlights the immense support she has earned so far.
