Tennis love is growing on Danielle Collins! After the Miami Open, she is doing great at the tennis event in Charleston. Whether it’s Miami or any other place, her fans have been a constant part of her tennis career since the beginning, standing with her through all her ups and downs. And recently, she almost got emotional while talking about her “strong fan base”.

After winning the quarter-final round against Elise Mertens, in an interview with Tennis Channel, she talked about the strong fan base that she has had behind her since the very first day she got into professional tennis. She stated, “I think I’ve had such a strong fan base behind me my whole career and they’ve been ride or dies I’ve had some of the same fans from the time I graduated from college.” 

Conversely, she emphasized the exceptional quality of the bond she has built with her followers and the significant influence they have had on her as a player. She expressed her feelings and broke down in tears as she talked about the important impact her devoted fans have had on her professional tennis career.

Further, she added, “I have so many pictures throughout my house of some of the people that have supported me and encouraged me and have showed up and I mean it, I could almost cry. I mean it’s one of the most special things you get to experience as a professional athlete is the love and support that you get from people and the impact you can make in their lives, but also the impact they can make on your life.”

Subsequently, it won’t be wrong to say that, their unshakable devotion has surely affected her career and brought attention to the close relationship that exists between an athlete and a fan. Not only that, while she appreciated her fans, she also made sure to issue a clear statement regarding her stand towards her haters, in the same conversation.

Collins discussed the contradiction between her polite and composed personality off the court and her fierce competitiveness as a tennis player in the same interview, specifically addressing the criticisms leveled at her by her critics. With that, she also shared the idea of how she believes in herself rather than listening to the voice of her haters.

She added, “So you know, I just say to those people stay bothered because I’m me, this is how it is, and I’m not going to change for anybody.” In addition, she also discussed the demands that society places on women, highlighting the unwavering need for compliance with particular actions.
