However, Serena has struggled with injuries over the last year. She has been away from tennis for over ten months now due to a hamstring injury that she suffered at Wimbledon in June 2021.

While Serena has taken a break from tennis, she has spent quality time with her family. Recently, she enjoyed a pre-screening with her husband, Alexis Ohanian.

The 23-times Grand Slam champion accompanied her husband for the pre-screening of Tom Cruise’s Top Gun Maverick film. Sharing her excitement before the movie, she posted a story on her official Instagram handle, saying, “Pre-screening. Fun times and that is Alexis. Yeah!”

Further, Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian took to Twitter, saying, “I am so ready @TopGunMovie”

Recently, Alexis’ Seven Seven Six foundation donated $25 Million for child-care initiatives. Talking about this, he said, “The Child Care Quality & Innovation Initiative will work on developing and expanding the child care system in NYC, especially in child care deserts where there aren’t enough licensed child care providers.”

The husband-wife duo has set a strong example of wanting to make the world a better place to live in. Earlier this year, Serena’s venture capital firm, Serena Ventures, received $111 Million as an inaugural fund. Later, she revealed that she aims to invest this amount in women and diversity.

On the tennis front, Serena is close to making her return to tennis. Moreover, she is determined as ever and aims to put her best foot forward on her return to the sport.
