Despite the scrutinizing eyes of the public, Sloane Stephens has maintained her mental health. She focuses on her life outside tennis to find balance and peace in her personal life. The player recently talked about her roles and responsibilities apart from her career and mentioned her role as a stepmother too.

Stephens got into the limelight in 2017 when she won the US Open by defeating several higher-ranked players on the path to glory.

Sloane Stephens is the stepmother of a beautiful boy

The American player entered 2022 with a major change in her relationship status. She married her long-term boyfriend Jozy Altidore, the American soccer player, this year. With this, she also became the stepmother of his boy, Cameron. Stephens has warmly embraced her role as his stepmother and has found happiness in being something more than just a tennis player.

She expressed her feelings about having a lot of roles in her life outside tennis in a podcast. She said, I am so many things. I feel I am the best daughter ever; I am also a stepmom; I am a wife; I am a granddaughter.”

She focused on the things that bring her happiness and let her feel whole. Stephens said, “I am so many things that I feel give me so much value in my life and make me so happy and fulfilled.” 

Finding the right balance

Stephens focused on finding the right balance. This helps in finding the true identity of the player. She said, I love being at home; I love gardening; I love teaching tennis; I love going to my mom’s house and being with her dogs. I am so happy with the things outside of tennis.”

Nonetheless, she did not undermine the importance of her career in her life. She said, “Not that I am not happy with tennis but just in general, finding those little gems in those moments when you are super fulfilled and happy.”
