On Saturday evening, the no.1 player in the World, Ashleigh Barty, won her first-ever Australian Open title. In the final, the Aussie beat the American, Danielle Collins, in straight sets to clinch her 3rd Grand Slam title. Previously, Barty won the French Open and the Wimbledon.
After her win, many famous people have congratulated Barty on various social media platforms. Fans are also praising Barty for her dominant display throughout the Australian Open. Today, Barty posted a picture on Instagram holding the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup (the Australian Open women’s trophy) and reactions are pouring in.

After clinching the Australian Open trophy, Ashleigh Barty posted a picture today on Instagram and wrote, “I’m so proud to be an Aussie.”

Ashleigh Barty is flying high
After her triumphant Australian Open win, Ash Barty broke several records and created a few more. She became the only active player after Serena Williams to win a Grand Slam title on three different surfaces. She also ended the drought by becoming an Australian player to win the Australian Open after 44 years.

Her achievement is not surprising to anyone, as she has been playing consistently on the tour for the past few years. In this tournament also, she played like a true world no.1 and won the whole thing without dropping a set. Her next target should be the French Open, which will take place in May. If Barty continues this form, she will clinch that Grand Slam as well.
