We all know Venus Williams for the superstar she is in tennis. But there is a lot to her that not all of her fans may know. She is not only a tennis legend but also has a business side to herself that can be seen in the various brands she owns and works with. One of the most prominent ones is EleVen by Venus. But she also owns another brand that you may not know.

It is called V Starr, an interior design studio based in South Florida. Recently Venus talked about her passion for interior design and how she wants to break the stereotypes that come within the industry with her work.

Venus Williams talks about how she wants to break a male-dominated industry and open doors for everyone

21 years ago, Venus Williams joined hands with Sonya Haffey and Holly Nixon to start her interior design studio in South Florida named V Starr. Recently in an interview, Venus talked about what led her to start this company and what her motive is beyond running her organization.

She said, “I want to open the door for more people who have not been exposed to the industry and don’t see design as a career path. Increasing the number of women and people of color in interior design and development is top-of-mind for me as this is a very male-dominated industry.”

Venus also shared how she always wanted to explore her creative side, but her parents encouraged her to go for tennis. But she always kept a creative outlet open. And now she wants to open this field for everyone so more people, especially women, can join in.

It’s not just Venus who has a passion for running businesses except tennis. There are others in line too.

Tennis players who also have a zest for running a business

We all know that Rafael Nadal owns a tennis academy. Just like him, Naomi Osaka also has a tennis academy of her own which is called Play Academy by Naomi. But that’s not all. All tennis players do not have their businesses running around tennis. There is Maria Sharapova who has dabbled in creating a very successful confectionary company. It is called Sugarpova.

Similarly, Novak Djokovic also has a business in the food industry. He has a restaurant which is called Eqvita. He started the restaurant in 2016and it is a vegan restaurant. Roger Federer also owns an academy and has invested in several brands, including the Swiss sneaker maker ‘ON Running’.
