The arduous journey of the World No. 1 player Iga Swiatek to defend her title at the US Open came to an end. The Latvian player, Jelena Ostapenko, has yet again proved to be an upset for the Polish tennis star as she faced a fourth-round defeat at the major. Despite her monumental victory, Ostapenko did not hide her dislike for some automated technology arrangements at the US Open.

Being quite a vocal WTA player, Ostapenko once again took a dig at the US Open technology, which has frequently tested her patience on the court.

Outsmarting multiple top players on the court, Swiatek has established her supremacy on the court. However, Jelena Ostapenko still proves to be a challenge for her.

However, her victory over Swiatek has not let Ostapenko forget about her beef with electronic line-calling technology at the US Open. During her post-match on-court interview, Ostapenko gave voice to her discontent, though with a laugh.

“Honestly, I don’t believe in it 100%. I’m honest,” she said with a laugh. “Sometimes you know you get frustrated, but you just have to stay with the calls and nothing is gonna change. You have to play the next point.”

However, the desire to get a point in her favor is higher than her acceptance of the technology. Therefore, she concluded with, “But sometimes I get really frustrated because I really wanna win.”
