Martina Navratilova is one of the greatest names in tennis. The 65-year-old was absolutely unbeatable in the era of the 80s. The 18-time Grand Slam champion is among a few athletes who enjoyed complete dominance in their game.
While many would argue that it’s because of the god-gifted talent one has, Navratilova puts the hard work on top. Back in 2001, she gave an example of legendary golfer Tiger Woods to explain how hard work is important even though one has an abundance of talent.

Here’s what the legend said in the praise of Tiger Woods.
Martina Navratilova stresses the importance of hard work
Speaking high of the legendary golfer, the 18-time Grand Slam champion credited it to his hard work. “At this level, talent is a given. But Tiger works harder than anyone out there, and that’s why he’s kicking butt,” she said. Further, she explained the importance of practice. “Every great shot you hit, you’ve already hit a bunch of times in practice,” she added post Woods’ two consecutive victories at the Memorial Tournament in Ohio back in his young days.
Navratilova understands what it takes to become a world beater. The 65-year-old ended her career with 18 Grand Slam titles and a humongous 167 singles titles in total.

Serena was away for a long time before she returned to action earlier this year at Wimbledon. After a first-round loss in Wimbledon, she won her first match at the National Bank Open. However, she lost her second-round match. Further, the 40-year-old crashed out of the Cincinnati Masters with a first-round defeat against Emma Raducanu.
