Richard Williams is popularly known as the father and coach of his two legendary daughters who ruled the WTA circuit for close to three decades. However, not much is known about his other children or his relationship with them. Recently, King Richard was seen spending some quality time with his son and the half-brother of Venus and Serena Williams, Chavoita LeSane. And the father-son duo shared some time in the fields, bonding over watermelons.

The father of Serena and Venus Williams, who laid the foundation for his daughters to amass a massive 44 Grand Slam titles together, has been suffering with his health recently. He even underwent a secret brain surgery. After recovering from the important surgical procedure, Richard was seen hanging out with his son.

Not many are aware of the mystery son of ‘King Richard’, who is currently taking care of the 80-year-old. And the father-son duo spent their day in the fields, spending quality time, which was revealed by LeSane on Instagram. In the post uploaded by LeSane, the two seem to be indulging in a funny banter” So this is what we do in the field all day, we carried a watermelon. We got it tight boy?”

However, the conversation didn’t end there. LeSane further warned ‘King Richard’ against dropping the watermelon, “You got that watermelon tight boy? Don’t drop that melon boy. Don’t drop my melon, aye. If he drops that melon, he gonna get some lashin’, you got that melon tight?’

King Richard has been a doting father to all his kids and prioritized family over other things. He had a unique and pragmatic penchant for delivering life changing lessons to his kids. And one such incident was narrated by Serena Williams’ sister Isha Price. ‘King Richard’ never painted the front of the house, and when the 23-time Grand Slam champion’s sister questioned the same, the reply was astounding and an important life lesson. Richard never painted the front of the house to teach his children that appearance doesn’t matter. What people say about you, about your house doesn’t matter, but what matters is within you. Because where you come from is within you.

And to respect his hard work, commitment, perseverance and planning, his life story was depicted in a movie starring Will Smith as the lead. The biopic received massive support and bagged many awards.
