Canada’s Eugenie Bouchard may have switched courts, but her flair remains unmatched. The WTA star, once a Wimbledon finalist, now finds herself navigating a different sport. She is a pickleball pro now and while her latest match at a PPA event in Tucson didn’t go as planned, she still caught all the spotlight. With a striking outfit, and her signature style, Bouchard made sure all eyes stayed on her. And why not?
While transitioning to pickleball, Bouchard still kept a foot in tennis. She last participated in the Canadian Open qualifiers where she lost in her first match. In pickleball, Bouchard recently exited the PPA Tour event in Tucson. The Canadian WTA star teamed with Jack Sock, a former ATP star in the mixed doubles event and lost against Lindsey Newman and Ivan Jakovljevic by 8-11 and 5-11. She also exited her singles campaign after a loss to Chao Yi Wang by 9-11 and 3-11. Despite the defeat though, Bouchard chose to look at the brighter side of things.
“I may not have won the tournament, but at least I had the cutest outfit,” Bouchard wrote on her Instagram account. The Canadian athlete showcased her neon green New Balance outfit through pictures on social media highlighting her love for the look. While Bouchard made her point about being fashionable, she took a funny dig at her mixed doubles partner in her follow-up IG story. Reflecting on Sock’s on-court wardrobe, Bouchard wrote, “Jack Sock needs to work on his outfits…”

Bouchard’s bold fashion sense has long turned heads. From on-court looks to off-court glam, she is truly a slayer. Remember her twirl at the 2015 Australian Open? Bouchard donned a pink skirt with a top featuring bright yellow stripes for the Slam and got a request from commentator Ian Cohen to twirl post-match. Although she was flabbergasted by Cohen’s request, she did it anyway, showing her unapologetic spirit.
Along with fashion, Bouchard is also very interested in collecting luxurious items. Whether it is her $41,000 Dayton watch or designer handbags, her wardrobe speaks volumes. In 2021, she bought a chic Louis Vuitton bag worth $1800 giving a peek into her high-fashion thoughts.
Additionally, she has flaunted a $890 pink Gucci bumbag, a Louis Vuitton holdall worth $2250, and a classic red Chanel bag worth $6000 during her outings as well. Bouchard’s first luxury handbag was from Louis Vuitton, an Everfall tote worth $16000, one she bought with her $3.5 million prize money. Her $1360 vintage Gucci sweater also made a buzz among her followers.
As far as fashion is concerned, Bouchard draws inspiration from former player Anna Kournikova. In an interview, she confessed her admiration for Kournikova, highlighting the former player’s influence on her on-court style.

Anna Kournikova is Eugenie Bouchard’s inspiration
“I just looked up to the greatest players in the world. I loved Anna Kournikova, but also Maria Sharapova. I remember watching her win Wimbledon when I was 10 years old. I thought she was so cool; I wanted to do what she was doing. I set my sights high and I think that’s what you have to do to be the best,” Bouchard said in a 2013 interview. Kournikova and Sharapova shaped Bouchard’s approach, seamlessly blending style with the sport. Kournikova, who reached the WTA No. 8 rank, became a model after tennis. She popularized the bare midriff on-court style that turned heads.
Bouchard reaffirmed her admiration for Kournikova, resharing a post that praised the former star’s timeless influence. When The Tennis Lookbook’s official IG page shared a clip of Anna Kournikova’s stylish pictures with the caption “She would influence all the girls today,” Bouchard re-shared it on her story.

While she is often praised for her styling choices, not all the comments that Bouchard receives on social media are pleasant. Her fashion-forward image often invites criticism as well, with some questioning her commitment to the sport. In an interview with ESPN, she said, “And I really try to refrain from posting bikini pictures, I really do. Apparently, if you post that, it means you don’t play tennis or something. It’s influenced a little bit how I act. Maybe I’m just getting more mature and I’m like, ‘Look, I’m not going to post butt pictures every day.”
Despite all the criticism though, Bouchard remains unfazed showing that she is a diva who hardly cares about others’ opinions.
