Serena Williams recently made her long-awaited comeback to the WTA tour. The legendary American last played in the 2021 Wimbledon Championship, where a hamstring injury hampered her progress.

Since then, the 40-year-old took a long hiatus from the sport and had everybody doubting her return. However, the former world number 1 surprised everyone when she announced her comeback. Yesterday she finally took to the court playing in the Eastbourne International doubles, partnering with Ons Jabeur of Tunisia.
Along with her countless fans, Serena had her husband Alexis Ohanian, daughter Olympia and sister Venus Williams for her support. In the case of the Co-founder of Reddit, Ohanian took to his Twitter account and wrote about the comeback game of his wife.

Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian has always been one of her biggest supporters. When Serena made a comeback yesterday, unsurprisingly, Ohanian was present there. Sharing pictures from the game, he reacted to the full house welcome Serena received in her comeback match.

Serena Williams returns with doubles win

Playing with World number 3 Ons Jabeur, Serena made a victorious return to the court. Playing in the Eastbourne doubles tournament, Serena looked rusty in the first set of the match, losing it 2-6. However, the pair gained momentum as the match progressed and came back to win the second set, 6-3. Although the ensuing tie-break was an intensely fought affair, Williams and Jabeur held their nerves to clinch the match by a scoreline 2-6 6-3 13-11.
With this victory, the pair advanced to the quarterfinals of the event. Following this tournament, Serena will play in the Wimbledon Championship which is scheduled to start from next week.
