“Got It Framed for My Office Wall” – Serena Williams’ Husband Alexis Ohanian Beams With Pride Over Olympia’s Athlos Moment

Last year, Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, and his daughter, Olympia, attended the grand opening of Athlos NYC. The event was one of the initiatives taken by the Reddit co-founder to further boost women’s sports. Ohanian has already invested heavily in the female sporting movement and has remained bullish about it. In this venture, he blended business and sports with his daughter Olympia by his side. Months after that event, Ohanian reminisced about a precious memory of his daughter.

During the event, Ohanian, who has invested in teams like Angel City FC, talked about the importance of the Athlos NYC event for women athletes. A female-only track and field meeting series, the event was a grand success as Ohanian had envisioned. Ahead of the event, Olympia was seen in a playful mood and put on a silver crown kept for that event.

Olympia’s father spotted her putting on that crown and captured the candid moment, which still resonates with Ohanian. Earlier today, Ohanian shared the precious picture on his official X handle and wrote, “I think about this photo all the time; got it framed for my office wall. One of those precious moments before all the @athlos action began; I hope Jr. remembers this night for a long time. And this was just the start…”

Further, Ohanian has strongly been inspired by Olympia for venturing into women’s sports. During the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Ohanian saw his daughter cheering her nation wholeheartedly following which the Reddit co-founder was inspired to invest in women’s sports. Additionally, Ohanian shares a very close bond with Olympia, and the two have been involved in several emotional moments. One such moment occurred a few years back.

When Serena Williams’ husband waved first goodbye to Olympia

Being a business person is no easy task, and one has to sometimes spend time away from home. Ohanian’s fate is no different as he has to travel to different places due to professional commitments. During an episode of the ‘Business Dad’ podcast, Ohanian recalled one such moment when he was leaving home and bid goodbye to Olympia for the first time.

He said, “I had a goodbye from Olympia and it was the first goodbye hug I really think she could process, like, ‘Oh, Dad’s going to for a little bit.’ And I was feeling it and I know she was feeling my energy, and it was like an extra hug. And I was like, ‘God, this sucks.’”

This clearly denotes how difficult it is for Ohanian to stay away from Olympia even for a day. However, the podcast’s host, Parker Conrad, had a wonderful hack to bid goodbye, and he suggested, “Other than school goodbyes, which were really hard for a long time, it was just one day, it was okay. I think she sort of figured it out herself. They had a place they called, like, the ‘peace table’ or the ‘peace corner’ where you could kind of be by yourself.”

Nonetheless, with Olympia’s picture on Ohanian’s office wall now, the Reddit co-founder can stay closer to his daughter even at work. On the other hand, Olympia continues to be her playful self, showing off her adorable innocence with her actions.
