Benoit Paire would have hoped to last more than the first round of the Roland Garros, as a determined Casper Ruud knocked the French international out. Ruud won the match comfortably as the game finished at 5-7,6-2,6-1,7-6. The former Lyon open winner was heartbroken and expressed his feelings in an Instagram post. Fans noticed a prominent name in the comment section as the Former world No.1 Venus Williams encouraged the Frenchmen.

He was also critical of himself in the post-match conference. The Frenchmen admitted that he collapsed in front of his hometown due to the overwhelming support he received.

Benoit Paire has always been someone who has never backed off from showing his true emotions. This trait in him has drawn praises and controversies in equal measures. In a recent post from his official Instagram handle, words of praise and gratitude to the fans were evident from Paire’s side.

He said-“I gave everything, and I loved sharing this moment with you!! Thanks to you I rediscovered the passion I have for this sport!! So I say thank you!! Of course, I am disappointed with the loss but the most important thing was to take advantage!! I will do everything to get back to my best level.”

Those words from Benoit revealed how much he loved playing in front of his hometown and the passion he holds for the sport of tennis. His disappointment was apparent, but his vow to return to his best self is surely hope for all the tennis fans. One noticeable comment from the comment section was from the former world No.1 Venus Williams. The seven-time grand slam winner came to aid the saddened French international by giving him moral support.

It’s not the end of the tunnel for Benoit Paire, as he has won the first round in the Double’s mix of the French Open. The Pair of Benoit Paire and Romain Arneodo outclassed the pair of Marc Lopez and Jürgen Melzer in a match that finished 6-2,5-7,6-4.

Therefore, there is still a hope for Benoit to put up a show in front of his hometown and hopefully bag a silverware at the end of the French open. As for the singles division Benoit Paire will prepare hard for the next ATP tournament and hopefully win something.
