After being out for 6 months, Bianca Andreescu has finally made a comeback to the tour during the clay-court season. After Stuttgart and Madrid, Bianca is now trying her hands on the clay courts of Rome. On the other hand, Iga Swiatek is continuing her ravishing form in Rome as well. Going by the draw, if both players win their upcoming match, they will face each other in the quarterfinals of Rome.
However, prior to meeting each other on the court, the two had a face-off yesterday during Andreescu’s press conference. Unlike the intense face-off during a match, this was a hilarious one.

The hilarious face-off of Andreescu and Swiatek
Bianca Andreescu has been in a decent form in Rome. She kicked off her campaign with a win over Emma Raducanu, who retired mid-match after suffering a lower back injury. Going ahead, Andreescu next outplayed Spain’s Nuria Parrizas Diaz. Post her second round, she attended the post-match press conference.
Attending the press conference, she answered media questions related to her win, her plans, etc. However, the serious press conference had a big laugh when World No. 1 Iga Swiatek passed from the press conference room where Bianca’s press conference was taking place.
Bianca was busy talking to the media when she saw Iga passing by the conference room. Seeing Iga, Bianca smiled at her and said, “Get out of here,” leaving everyone in splits.

Going down the history line, the two have come close to each other frequently during the tour. However, they haven’t been able to face each other yet. In Rome, Bianca will face Croatia’s Petra Martic in the third round. On the other hand, top seeded Swiatek will face Victoria Azarenka in the third round. Presuming the two win their third-round matches, they will finally have their first meeting on the clay-courts of the Italian capital.
