Players have suffered from hectic schedules, a common cause of injuries. Recently, Russian star, Daria Kasatkina, slammed a fan who questioned this attitude from the players.

Twitter war erupts between Daria Kasatkina and a fan

The 26-year-old tennis star is active on social media and often shares glimpses of her day-to-day activities on platforms like Twitter (Now X). A few hours ago, a fan took to Twitter to slam players who questioned the tournament schedule despite getting paid handsomely.

The fan felt that tennis players are independent contractors and that they aren’t forced to play in any tournament. They can make their own choice of playing at the events they feel like.

Further, the rant continued, “Because this whole “I want to pick and choose when and where to play but be paid as if I played every single tournament week” attitude is getting tiresome.”

Daria Kasatkina, who has often raised her voice against scheduling irregularities, hit back hard at the fan for the comments. It didn’t go down well with her as she wrote, “Tiresome? So you can blame players because they “complain” and “crying” but you are tired from what? Spending 24/7 on twitter? get a life.” 

Daria Kasatkina has it in her to speak out for herself and her fellow players who go through the same thing. However, this is not the first time Kasatkina has reacted to inappropriate fan comments. Before the US Open, a similar incident occurred.

When Daria Kasatkina oozed irony

The tournaments before the US Open featured several scheduling irregularities. As a result, matches got delayed and pushed to the next day. This resulted in the players not getting adequate rest.

When Azarenka complained about the scheduling mess, one fan wrote, “Can players stop whining and just play?” Kasatkina, active as always to this, hit back at the fan, saying, “See you at work at 3am and no whining pls!!!” The ironic reply from Kasatkina shut the mouth of the fan.
