However, she failed to deliver when it mattered the most, as she went down to Greek star Maria Sakkari in a three-set thriller in the semifinals. Perhaps, now it’s time for the American to find her best form and make a winning start to her campaign. Just a few days ago, she was spotted training at the University of California in Los Angeles. Recently, she took a break and enlightened the stage with her stunning look at the 97th annual Academy Awards. Now, since that event is also over, Gauff is yet again back to her ‘business’!

Keeping all these permutations and combinations aside, Coco Gauff was recently seen sharing an update with fans on her IG stories. After successfully managing to turn heads with her gorgeous V-neck yellow gown, diamond earrings, a gold Rolex, and a classic chignon, Gauff is back to her activewear. She recently shared a picture on her IG stories where she was spotted in an all-pink jacket and track pants. Through that post, Gauff announced her arrival at the Indian Wells, California, and captioned that post with, “lol and just like that we are back in the tennis world.”

Not to forget, Gauff had a stellar start to her season 2025 as she led Team USA to the title triumph at the 2025 United Cup. However, after that, we saw her getting beaten by Paula Badosa in the QF of the AO, and then even at the Middle East swing, we saw her making two early exits. This will be the first time in the last two years that she’ll be entering the Indian Wells after losing three matches in a row.

If we take a look at the WTA Rankings, Aryna Sabalenka is currently sitting at the top spot with 9,076 points, while the defending champion, Iga Swiatek, is placed at the second spot with just 7,985 points, and Coco Gauff is in the third place in that list with 6,333 points. So, there is a big gap between Sabalenka and the other two at the moment. However, irrespective of the result here at the Indian Wells, Gauff’s third place in that list should be safe. She currently has a chance of dropping 510 points due to her SF run in the last season.

Talking about her recent Oscar look, Gauff’s stunning look earned praise from her peers, including Danielle Collins and Madison Keys. Later on, she was even spotted trading her yellow outfit with yet another glittering green Miu Miu custom outfit. Coco Gauff has an unending love for fashion. Previously, during an interview, she said, “I mean, I really do love fashion. I love makeup. I love that type of thing. I just haven’t really thought about how I would build that into a brand, per se.” However, in the middle of a jam-packed schedule, she hardly gets any time to showcase her love for fashion, and hence, this was perhaps the opportunity that she had been waiting for.

During an interview with the renowned comedian, Amelia Dimoldenberg, Gauff was asked to reflect a bit about the process of getting readying for this mega event. In reply to that question, she said, “It was a lot. Hair, makeup, the whole do. I play tennis, so I’m not used to this glam, but it’s nice to get dressed for the day.” Later on, she even added that she’s “really happy” to be here. “I want to be more than just a tennis player and step into other roles,” added Gauff.

She had then even joked that she was ready to “have her sneakers on” and would be heading to Palm Springs after this show, and now perhaps it seems that joke has turned into a reality! Apart from earning praise from her peers for her glamorous look at the Oscar event, Coco Gauff was recently also picked as the best actress by some of the tennis stars.

Recently, during an interactive session, the ATP and the WTA stars were asked to name their favorite actor/actresses on the Tour. In reply to that, Coco Gauff was seen saying, “First person, when you say actor’s face, is Matteo Berrettini. He just gives like actor-like Hollywood vibes.” However, interestingly, the 2024 Indian Wells champion, Carlos Alcaraz, said that Gauff will be a perfect fit for this role on the women’s tour. Even the Russian star Daniil Medvedev said, “Coco Gauff seems like she will be a good actress.”
