Serena Williams just faced a ‘denial situation’ with her kids. While the 23-time Grand Slam champion took offense at her daughters and her being denied entry into a Parisian restaurant, another side of the story has emerged. The reputed hotel that Williams pointed to, The Peninsula, has come forward to apologize for the inconvenience caused, whereas a fan found a loophole in the whole scenario.
The 42-year-old American tennis icon is presently in Paris with her whole family to take in the spectacle of the Olympics. Going to dinner with her family a few nights ago, a troubling circumstance was encountered – The Peninsula Paris denied her permission to dine in their rooftop area.
After the whole incident went viral on social media, the official page of the five-star hotel came forward and responded to the tweet that was shared by Williams herself about the issue, emphasizing how they were fully booked.

“Dear Mrs. Williams, Please accept our deepest apologies for the disappointment you encountered tonight. Unfortunately, our rooftop bar was indeed fully booked, and the only unoccupied tables you saw belonged to our gourmet restaurant, L’Oiseau Blanc, which was fully reserved.” On the other hand, later, someone provided a detailed explanation highlighting why Serena Williams might actually have been in the wrong here.

Replying to the apology, a Twitter user wrote, “This Serena Williams situation is interesting, because on the Peninsula Paris’s own website it states that they do not accept bookings for the rooftop?” While the hotel apologized for being fully booked, the fan, on the other hand, openly discussed how their website states they don’t take pre-booking and even attached the website line to the tweet.

Even though Williams’ concern was genuine as it also involved her kids, it won’t be wrong to say that the hotel itself has not come up with the real scenario. However, this is not the first time someone has gone against what Williams has said. Apparently, back in 2018, Serena Williams was accused by the chair umpire of cheating, sparking a heated argument that mired the historic game in controversy.

Serena Williams voiced her opinion against accusation
Williams suffered a shocking defeat in her 31st Grand Slam final to 20-year-old Naomi Osaka, the first Japanese woman to win a major championship. Williams was fined for three consecutive code breaches, beginning with chair umpire Carlos Ramos’s accusation that she was receiving coaching from her box—a charge she passionately denied—that soured the match.
She stated, “I understand why you may have thought that was coaching but I’m telling you it’s not. I don’t cheat to win.” As point deductions impacted the score, Williams demanded an apology, asserting, “You owe me an apology. I have never cheated in my life,” and later accusing the chair umpire, “You stole a point from me. You’re a thief, too.”
