Iga Swiatek has been a player to beat so far this season. The Polish tennis ace is in the form of her life and has barely put a foot wrong in 2022. She has put on an authoritative show in the tournaments this year, dominating her opponents with her aggressive shot-making.

At the ongoing French Open, Swiatek has made it to the fourth round. Last week, she defeated Danka Kovinic of Montenegro in straight sets in the third round. After her victory, she opened up about communicating with compatriot Robert Lewandowski to express support for Ukrainians.

Iga Swiatek on Robert Lewandowski’s stand in support of Ukrainians

During the post-match press conference after her third-round victory, the interviewer asked Swiatek whether she had a word with the soccer legend regarding his support for Ukrainians. She said, “Well, honestly, not really. I didn’t see a lot in terms of that. That’s probably my fault, because I’m not browsing through Internet during tournaments. My schedule has been pretty busy. I was more reading about all the transfer rumors. I was reading more about that. But still, I don’t know anything more. I just know the rumors.”
