Coco Gauff claims the crown of records at Roland Garros. The WTA star recently made it to the semi-finals in Paris by defeating Ons Jabeur in a three-setter intense competition. While it might seem like just another clay court victory, stats suggested a massive feat for the US Open champion, drawing her name parallel to the likes of Chris Evert and Andrea Jaeger. But there’s a retired Russian beauty in the mix as well.

Every tennis fan shared disappointment with Gauff back in 2022. While her run for the Roland Garros title was interrupted by Iga Swiatek in the finals, she came back in, this time to claim a historical record. According to the history books, the 20-year-old is the third woman so far to make it to the semi-finals at Roland Garros multiple times.

Soon after she grabbed a win over the Tunisian, OptaAce unveiled the update on their X account. “Coco Gauff has become only the third American in the Open Era to reach multiple Women’s Singles semi-finals at Roland Garros before the age of 21, along with Chris Evert and Andrea Jaeger,” the post said.

However, her record-breaking win streak wasn’t just limited to this. Along with establishing her name parallel to that of Chris Evert and Andrea Jaeger, the young American also became the only player since 2000 to secure more than 20 women’s singles victories at the French Open, yet again rewriting history.

Gauff also joined the league of WTA legend Maria Sharapova as she became the youngest player to make it to three consecutive women’s singles semi-finals. This includes the ongoing Grand Slam along with the Australian Open and 2023 US Open where she secured her maiden grand slam title. As she managed to create new records along with gathering victories, Gauff’s form makes it seem like she’s up for more!
