Four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka unveils the unknown side of her personality in Paris. While balancing tennis with her motherhood, one thing Osaka is determined with is that she doesn’t “really want to bring” Shai onto the site yet. “When she’s a little older” the tennis mom might consider it but for now Shai will only see her mom’s matches on TV.

Naomi Osaka sat for the Roland Garros press conference and spoke about her daughter Shai ahead of the second major tour of this season. When the reporter asked about her daughter’s presence at her matches, responsible mom Naomi Osaka said – “Oh yeah um she has watched my matches before but she watches on TV. I uh don’t really want to bring her on to site yet maybe when she’s a little older.”

This Grand Slam champion previously revealed her happiness by sharing that her daughter Shai will join her in Paris. “Shai (her daughter) is coming to Paris, so that’s something that’s keeping me very happy”- she said. Now that Shai has finally joined her mother in Roland Garros, Osaka is brimming with joy as she prepares for the second Grand Slam tour of the season. Her daughter’s latest surprise became cheery on top of the WTA star.

Yesterday, she walked for the first time, so I was really happy about that, We’re going to practice some more when I get back. But it’s really cool to have her here, just to see how much she’s grown and how many things she’s doing differently. It’s kind of surreal. I mean, being away from her was really tough, but I called her every day, I saw how well she was doing and I saw how happy she was, so that made me happy,”- said the famous Japanese WTA star mommy.

Despite enjoying her moments with Shai, Naomi Osaka’s response to the question about bringing Shai to the stadium expresses her responsible side of nature. Keeping aside her French Open nervousness, Naomi Osaka offered a true motherhood goal for many.

This Japanese WTA star is heading towards her seventh clay court attempt in Paris. Given her lack of expertise on the surface, Osaka revealed her nervousness for the first round against Italy’s Lucia Bronzetti. Nevertheless, that nervousness paid her off pretty well as Osaka walked from the court with a smile after the match.

This four-time Grand Slam winner defeated Bonzetti by 6-1, 4-6, and 7-5 in two hours of the match at Phillippe-Chatrier court in Paris. However, in the Roland Garros press conference, when a reporter asked Osaka about her feelings and preparations for the debut round of this season’s Roland Garros, she was nervous.

Mentioning her first encounter against Bronzetti, Osaka said-Man now you’re stressing me out um I’m I don’t think I have played her um not to my knowledge so you know I’ve seen her around and um I know that anyone that’s playing this tournament is a really tough opponent so plus it’s a first round of a slam um I’m usually quite nervous during those uh first round matches so um I’m just going in there trying my best and um seeing if all the lessons that I’ve learned so far uh have adopted me into a better player” –said the Japanese former US Open champion.

Naomi Osaka’s comment on bringing Shai to her French Open match showcases her responsible self to the audience. While Shai is her biggest support system, Osaka’s comment reveals that she would happily wait for the bundle of joy to grow a bit older to understand her mommy’s brilliance in the sport.
