After having quite a poor start on clay this season, Serena Williams has finally found her form at the French Open 2021. She has managed to reach the third round of the tournament and is playing some great tennis at the moment. The tennis queen will be up against her compatriot Danielle Rose Collins in the third round of the major.
Serena Williams v Danielle Rose Collins: Preview
Serena Williams has played two really close matches at the French Open 2021 so far. Even though she won the first match in straight sets, the tie-breaker of the second set there tested her fitness and patience level. In the second round against Mihaela Buzarnescu, she dropped a set but managed to bounce back in the decider. The final scoreline of the match was 6-3, 5-7, 6-1.

On the other hand, Danielle Rose Collins hasn’t faced many difficulties at the French Open 2021 so far. In her second-round match against Anhelina Kalinina, Collins lost only two games in the entire match. Interestingly, she even bageled her opponent in the first set of the match.
It is Collins’ exceptional service that can create huge problems for Williams. In addition, she has the ability to cover the court quickly, and thus, it will be a test of Serena’s fitness yet again. However, Collins has to find an answer to Serena’s powerful forehands that can otherwise cause a lot of trouble to her.
Serena Williams vs Danielle Rose Collins: Head-to-Head
The two have faced each other only once in their careers so far. Intriguingly, that meeting took place this year itself at the Yarra Valley Classic. It was the World No. 8 Williams who won that match and as a result, she currently leads the head-to-head battle 1-0.
Williams v Collins: Prediction
Even though not in the best of her forms, Serena Williams will begin as the favorite for the match. However, Collins can prove to be a big threat if she manages to play some cheeky drop shots and makes the American legend tired.

The match can go up to three sets with Williams turning out to be the winner. It’ll certainly not be easy for her as Collins can cause an upset if she serves well consistently. Whatever be the case, fans are really looking forward to the amazing battle. Will Serena be able to win her 24th Grand Slam title in Paris this year?
