For doubles, she is said to partner with the home favorite, Ons Jabeur, who previously partnered Serena at last year’s Eastbourne International. Since the 2022 US Open, Venus has not played a doubles match. In addition, the last doubles she played was with her sister, Serena.
Although Venus has seen a lot of ups and downs throughout this year on the tennis court, the doubles return might be something that might help her get her form back on track. While her fans are quite excited to see her play once again in the doubles category, this also came out to be a huge shock for a lot of tennis players.

Venus goes against her own words
In June, during a question-and-answer session with fans on Instagram, the seven-time Grand Slam champion made a huge statement regarding her doubles retirement. She shocked the entire tennis world by saying that she wouldn’t return to play doubles without her sister. Venus wrote, “When Serena retired I retired from doubles as well. When you have Serena Williams as a partner you have seen the glory at the mountaintop, you can’t go any higher! Sorry I don’t have better news.”
The 43-year-old tennis star made it clear that even though she hasn’t retired from singles, she won’t be playing doubles because her sister retired in both categories. But now she is ready to make a u-turn for the sake of her professional career.
