Venus Williams Shares Her First Tournament Story Outside the US
Venus Williams, one of the most successful and decorated tennis players in the world, recently took to Instagram to share her first tournament story outside the United States. The French Open, which is currently taking place, holds a special place in Venus’ heart, as it was not only her first Grand Slam but also her first international tournament.
At the tender age of 16, Venus embarked on a journey that would forever shape her career and legacy in the world of tennis.

In her Instagram story, she fondly recalls her experience at the French Open. She added, “First tournament outside the US was French Open which is happening now. I was 16 years old. It was my first Grand Slam and first tournament outside the US. I remember we got there and we were jet lagged so we slept through the first practice. During the second practice, we got a wake-up call so that we don’t miss our car. Serena and I, wonderful experience”.

Venus is soon to surprise fans with her comeback at Rothesay Classic Birmingham
The news of Venus Williams being back on the court with her best game has made fans really happy. They are looking forward to witnessing her playing her best from June 19. Since 2021, this will be the first time she will be seen in action in the singles tournament on grass after the Wimbledon championships that year.
