Venus Williams, the 42-year-old tennis champion, entrepreneur, and arts patron, has exciting news for her fans. Many players use their fame and influence to raise awareness and funds for charities and nonprofit organizations. One of the most prominent examples of this is the Roger Federer Foundation. The Swiss tennis star founded the foundation in 2003 to support educational projects in Africa, Switzerland, and other parts of the world. Just like Federer, the American tennis ace has teamed up with an exciting firm. She has partnered with National Trust for Historic Preservation’s African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund.

The collaboration has started the Nina Simone Childhood Home Benefit Auction. The auction will feature 11 contemporary artworks and benefit the preservation project.
