Tennis is as much a game of fashion as it is a sport. Playing in front of a packed stadium while elite broadcasting channels air matches for the world makes players conscious of their appearance. During her reign, Chris Evert donned trendy accessories that aligned with the sport’s simplicity. The tennis veteran spread the trend worldwide by launching an exclusive tennis bracelet collection in August 2022.

The collection was an instant hit, boasting classy, elegant diamonds with a delicate gold or platinum lining. A year after launching the first collection, Evert upped her game with over a $43,000 creation during a historic US Open tournament. The American legend partnered with her long-time designer to introduce the collection, which stands apart from the typical luxury brands.

WTA players are often under intense scrutiny; even a minor fashion detail can make a trend or disaster in the market. Evert assumed the responsibility of keeping tennis fashion minimal yet trendy with her jewelry line. The American legend partnered with ace designer Monica Rich Kosann to curate the perfect designs that align with female champions’ desires.

Recently, Evert and Kosann launched their second collection, named ‘Tennis Bracelet – CE Collection.’ The new line-up honors Evert for her contributions and on-court fashion.

It was Little Miss Sunshine that popularised tennis bracelets, and naming a collection after her is obvious. The new designs flaunt colored gemstones, creative stone cuts, and more fancy diamonds.

The Hall of Famer aced the fashion game with a thin diamond bracelet on her wrist. Evert often played her matches wearing this diamond accessory which was only a part of elite occasions in the 70s and 80s. But inspired by the former World No.1, the bracelets became an everyday fashion.

In one of her matches at the Flushing Meadows, the American legend lost her diamond accessory. This halted the match for quite some time till Evert’s treasure was found. From this match onwards, fans started calling it the ‘tennis bracelet,’ which became the official name of the accessory.

The tennis bracelet is a symbolic accessory of the game, in which the pear-shaped sapphire stands for sweat bead, the emerald tsavorite accent symbolizes green court, and the natural sapphires represent the white lines on the court. This is what Evert envisioned a tennis bracelet to be, and Kossan executed the pieces to perfection.
