Before the start of the tournament, the ticket sales for day 1 and day 3 were phenomenal, which increased more after the draw came out. In the second round at the US Open, Serena had a tough battle against the world no.2, Anett Kontaveit. After 2 hours and 27 minutes, the 23-time Grand Slam champion beat the Estonian player 7-6,2-6,6-2.

Undoubtedly, this win will boost her confidence massively as she is getting more wins under her belt. In the first round, she destroyed Danka Kovinic in straights. Now, in the third round, she will face the Australian tennis player, Ajla Tomljanovic, which will be another tough match for the American.
