Alexis Ohanian is a proud father, but no one can remove the techie out of him. So back in 2023, he decided to merge the two by allowing daughter Olympia to dictate the prompts on ChatGPT for her bedtime stories. “And then we hit enter and we watch it come out. I print it out and I read it to her at bedtime,” the father revealed with pride because he not only found new stories for his daughter but also got to engage his daughter with tech. Now bedtime has become one of his favorite moments as a father.

In a new update, Ohanian confirmed just that. He took to X and wrote:

“Bed time is easily one of my favorite times of the day as a dad, because it means ‘uppy’ (carrying her upstairs and getting a looooong hug), we get to do prayers, we recap the day… and she’s finally going to sleep 😆😅 so I get the rest of the night back to myself!”

His post brought in a lot of attention from X users. In fact, a fan commented that they knew many parents who viewed bedtime as a chore instead of an opportunity to spend quality time with their kids. To this, Ohanian responded, “Yes! She’s already 7 years old, I gotta really take advantage of these windows…”

After becoming a parent. Ohanian has changed in many ways. One of them being his sleep schedule. In May 2023, he updated his followers on X, stating he preferred to get the required eight hours of sleep; something that he neglected in his 20s. He also started incorporating physical activity and unstructured schedules.

For the entrepreneur, being a dad isn’t just a role—it’s his favorite job. It’s about being present in every sense of the word. On his podcast Business Dad, he shared in 2024, “I figured I was destined to have girls… and it’s awesome to be a girl dad.” From flipping ‘papa pancakes’ to supporting Olympia’s interests, he is all in when it comes to his kids.

Alexis Ohanian believes his family is his legacy, and that’s one of the many reasons he believes that fathers should spend more time at home. In 2022, he stated, “My family is what I am actually going to be remembered for by the people I actually care about. I don’t think this makes us any less competitive,” and wife Serena Williams shares this family-first approach.

The Reddit co-founder revealed their decision to invest in TCL was actually inspired by their daughter, Olympia. He said, “To wit, my wife Serena [Williams] and I have enjoyed as Olympia’s taken a liking to golf. This is another piece of the legacy I’m building for my family, and I hope this team can become a part of many families’ lives, too.”
