Venus and Serena Williams have perhaps become the torchbearers of women’s tennis. Their aura in itself is so vibrant that wherever or whenever they have played, they have only brought a feeling of being motivated to do something great. Romanian tennis star Simona Halep is also in awe of the resilience of the two sisters and expressed her views on the inspiration she derives from them.

She complimented their perseverance after so many years and their passion for the sport.

Simona Halep heaps praise on Venus and Serena Williams

Venus Williams and Serena Williams have dominated women’s tennis for almost two decades. There was a time when their competition was only amongst themselves. They had mastered their skills and knew how to win the titles. Simona Halep expressed her admiration of the sisters and commented on their resilience this summer.

She said, “It’s impressive. The whole admiration is for them.” The player said with awe, “It’s crazy good how they can keep playing at this age after so many titles and so many great results.” She concluded, “I really admire the fact that they keep playing and they still fight for every match that they play.”

Simona Halep has won two titles this year. She started off on a good footing with her victory at the Melbourne Series 1. After that; she had to wait till the hard-court season to clinch her next title at the Canadian Open.

However, she had to face a shock first-round defeat at the US Open this year. When asked if she will play at the age of 40, she laughed and said, “I don’t think so but let’s take it year by year!”

Can anyone become the next Williams?

The 23-time Grand Slam champion has set an unbelievable yet astounding record on the court. Many tennis players like Coco Gauff, Iga Swiatek, and Naomi Osaka admire the tennis legend. However, their journeys have just begun. Osaka has won four grand slam titles, followed by Swiatek who has won two. Gauff has not won one yet but the American player undoubtedly has the potential to do so.
