Just a few days ago, the Washington Post shared a beautiful story demonstrating their friendship journey, starting from the beginning and talking it through the recent past. They both defeated cancer at the same time when they literally became each other’s strength.

While their journey has received a lot of love on the internet, it underlines the reality that this is what true friendship looks like. The Washington Post writer recently sent a heartfelt statement on Twitter, thanking everyone who helped her break the internet, including Evert and Navratilova, who told the tale of their lovely friendship.

Replying to that post, the 18-time Grand Slam champion sent love to not only the Washington Post writer but also to her good friend, the Czech-American tennis player. She wrote, “I Love you, @sallyjenkinswa1 I love you @Martina.” 

In addition to her amazing appreciation message, the 66-year-old tennis Legend also commented on Navratilova’s post, indicating her love for her friend. She wrote, “Love all the way around!!!:)” 

While sharing their beautiful journey, through the article, they got organic about their relationship, and the 66-year-old tennis legend also talked about the souvenir, that helps her cherish friendship with Navratilova even when they are miles apart.

The 18-time Grand Slam champion has always valued her relationship and viewed them as “two peas in a pod.” And to mark the occasion, she gave the Czech-American tennis player a sentimental memento. Evert discussed giving Navratilova a Cartier box with three white gold rings for her 60th birthday in the same interview.

The jewelry represented their friendship, and the American tennis legend joked about the fact that she is the man in a relationship who is always buying jewelry for the other person. Undoubtedly, the 66-year-old tennis legend has yet to take the jewelry her dearest friend gave her then.
