As they are in damage control mode, Instagram, owned by Mark Zuckerberg through Meta, is doing their best to promote its new platform, Threads, which will work in a similar manner to Twitter. If it is successful, users will have more places to interact.
As the co-founder of one of the biggest community-based platforms, Alexis Ohanian took this chance to show off his expertise. While sharing imperative advice for Twitter and the up-and-coming Threads, Ohanian referenced a feature of Reddit that he created. “The killer feature for Threads/Twitter will be when they add the reddit commenting / sorting system — wonder if that day will come. Tbh I designed it on accident but it’s really proven at scale to help with signal: noise ratio,” wrote the entrepreneur, schooling those working on the two platforms.
