An innovative product on the market helped the Reddit co-founder come to this conclusion.

Ever heard of a brown band-aid? Flaunting a general-sized brown band-aid, Ohanian highlighted how it goes a long way in helping people of color stay more adaptive to bandaids, especially when they twin with their skin’s shade.

The 41-year-old uploaded a series on his social media handle and said: “I live in an interracial household so I have lots of brown skin tone bandaids. This is the free market, just solving a problem where you have 13% of the US population that is gonna need bandaids where the default skin tone doesn’t look like them. One of the perks of being in an interracial relationship is moments like this where I just need a bandaid I put it on and I’m like, ‘That doesn’t look like my skin’.

He continued, “It’s the moment of humility. Every single band-aid I’ve picked up has been styled based on my skin tone so it can blend in. That feeling of a reminder, especially knowing that bandaids like this mean my kids are gonna have band-aids they feel better about makes me feel better. Makes me feel more empathy.”

Not brand new information by any metric but Ohanian loves his two daughters to an imaginable scale. It’s the fatherhood that entices him. The entrepreneur can’t get enough of their family adventures, and, having left his co-founder chair at Reddit, Ohanian reflected on how his daughters would remember his legacy.

Serena WIlliams‘s husband Ohanian wrote, “My career really took off once I left Reddit and if my kids are the only people who remember me for anything – and it’s my pancakes – that’s a major W.”
