Russian tennis player Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova has been an acknowledged player on the Tour. The 30-year-old player has given some impressive performances over the years; has been active on the circuit for a considerable amount of time.

However, the world, right now is going through a huge crisis between Russia and Ukraine. It has resulted in tragic loss and many unfortunate outcomes.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova wants harmony restored 

Pavlyuchenkova spoke on this topic and mentioned that she can not really do much as she is an athlete and not a politician. She hopes peace can be maintained at its earliest and to put an end to the mayhem. 

Speaking on these issues, Anastasia stated, “I’m not a politician, just a woman who plays tennis professionally. I just try to speak out, try to make my point. I don’t want violence. We just want peace and love and stop the war. I have a fear for the future. We need to think about our children as well. I want a future for the children. I don’t want to be selfish and talk about my career, it’s not about sport and tennis right now. It’s about our future and our lives.”

Saw a decent amount of success in the last season

Reflecting on tennis, the Russian player had a great season last year. She reached her first-ever final of a Grand Slam tournament at the French Open. Moreover, she won the gold medal along with Andrey Rublev in the mixed doubles Tokyo Olympic Games. She even attained her career-best ranking of being the 11th best player in the world.
