Chris Evert, Billie Jean King, and Martina Navratilova are the people who revolutionized women’s tennis! But are they getting enough credit for what they have done on and off the court to help women grow? Recently, this question has been creating waves on social media regarding how Navratilova’s part in the struggle has been intentionally sidelined, pointing fingers at her best friend, Evert.

But now the 18-time Grand Slam champion has stepped in to put a full stop to this debacle. Let’s see what the 68-year-old tennis veteran has to say about her role in advancing equality in women’s sports.

Recently, a tennis enthusiast took Twitter by storm when he shared a statement regarding how the renowned women tennis players themselves are not standing up for each other. He shared an example of how he has lost respect for players like Evert, Steffi Graf, and King, who have strongly advocated for female athletes. Because they were not there for the 66-year-old tennis legend, while they should have been the first to support her on and off the tennis court.

Navratilova commented on that thought with a strong statement regarding how her friend has always stood by her side, through thick and thin. She wrote, “Chris is giving me support, you got that one wrong. Steffi is not involved at all. And Billie- well, she is for inclusion. Go figure.”

After Navratilova, the 18-time Grand Slam champion also commented on her best friend’s tweet and shared how she has never gone against her own idea of prioritizing equality and fairness in women’s sport. She wrote, “I prioritize fairness in women’s sports. I have always supported Martina on this….”

As a testament to Evert’s support, just a few days ago, the Czech-American former tennis player talked about how she found solace in her best friend’s unwavering support.
