One such friendship that was seen was between Matthew Perry and Jennifer Capriati.

The famous sitcom actor showed his dedication towards his and Capriati’s friendship by attending her matches. Even though he had little knowledge about the game, he made sure that his dear friend had her cheerleader by her side.
The star who supported Jennifer Capriati from the stadium
In September 2003, when Jennifer Capriati was gearing up for the last Grand Slam of the season. Perry showed up at the stands and waited for the rain to stop in order to support his friend. He later confessed that although he loved attending the US Open matches, he wasn’t much of an expert. “Mostly, I just sit around the players’ lounge and pretend I’m a pro,” Perry quipped.
Thereafter, the former World no.1 took on Twitter to mock Perry for not following her handle. She wrote, “Can someone ask Mr. Matthew Perry why he can eat hot dogs during my match but can’t follow me on twitter!! lol.”

As a response to this, he followed her and reported, “Jennifer Capriati problem solved…..” And a happy Capriati responded, “there u are!! Yay U just made me so happy:) miss u and so happy about your show.”

Matthew Perry was one of the main cast of the world-renowned show F.R.E.I.N.D.S. He played the character of a witty, sarcastic man, Chandler Bing, which is quite similar to the actor’s real self.
Capriati’s journey over the years
The Tennis Hall of Famer debuted in the year 1990 and claimed her first Grand Slam title on the hard courts of the 2001 Australian Open. Also riding high on form, she came out victorious on the red clay of France that year.

Further with the points from these two Grand Slams and a semifinal run in the Wimbledon championships and the US Open, she embraced and enjoyed the crown of World no.1. She marked a total of 14 singles titles under her name before retiring in the year 2004.
