Recently, Ivanovic appeared on the ES Fancast. During the show, she was asked about Collins’ retirement and what could have led her to this shocking retirement decision. “I mean, it is very hard to say. If you go back to the time of Martina Hingis, they all retired at the age of 26, 27, which is now considered super young. So we went through the era when the players played till almost 40 and now a little bit younger, the reason a lot of pressure, especially on the women’s side, because we just deal differently than men.”

Further, she went on to add, “And I think, naturally we are more emotional, we analyze things differently, view things differently. Being in the spotlight at a young age and for so many years does take a toll.”
