The excitement of the game, the cheer of the crowd, and the thrill of competition—former US Open champion Coco Gauff lives for the fierceness of the tour. However, behind the wins and challenges, there is something more that the WTA star longs for. A ritual probably that keeps her grounded. “I’m warming up before I hit to music and then cooling down to music, so I’m always having music a part of my routine,” Gauff admits proudly. With her words, she leaves the fraternity quite intrigued: is music that important in Coco Gauff’s life?

Gauff returned to her home after a sad defeat to Paula Badosa in the quarterfinals of the ongoing Slam in Rod Laver Arena. Upon returning, she made an interesting confession on her IG story, revealing what she missed the most on tour. For Gauff followers, the WTA star’s love for music isn’t unknown. Remember when she confessed to listening to loud music right before entering the court? Gauff explained how loud music helps her ignore the crowd’s reaction which makes her nervous before the game at times. After this reveal, it was clear to the fraternity that Coco Gauff’s relationship with music was inseparable. Now, she has dropped another confession highlighting that fact!

Recently, Gauff shared a reel on her IG story, featuring her gramophone. She was listening to Florida-based indie-rock band Ego Death’s vinyl. She also captured more pieces of vinyl of the band highlighting a good indie-rock collection. “naa away from home for a month and I swear this is what I missed the most lol I wish I could travel with it fr,” she wrote in the caption expressing her intense liking for the art form. So much so, that she wished to carry her gramophone on tours.

For this WTA number three, music is not just something she likes, but something that also helps in her fitness routine. She once said, “I just like to listen to music, while doing whatever I’m doing. Yeah, I mean, the bike is calming. It gets repetitive for me, so I do switch it up, between the treadmill and the bike but, as long as I have music, I think it’s the most relaxing.”

Coco Gauff‘s love for music was even more evident when she showed her Apple Music login statistics featuring 28,882 minutes of listening time proudly. She also shared her most listened artists list with Frank Ocean in the top spot. While Gauff’s favorite Taylor, the Creator secured second place, Beyonce was in the eighth spot. Her list of most-played songs was dominated by MK.gee. Frank Ocean’s Chromakopia also attained a high place. Then there was Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter in the tenth place.
