Canadian tennis star Eugenie ‘Genie’ Bouchard has been on and off the WTA tennis tour for several years now. The former World No. 5 hasn’t participated in the 2021 season since March due to a shoulder injury at the Monterrey Open towards the beginning of the year.
There’s no doubt that she’s been hard at work to return to the court. Meanwhile, her social media presence has increased in her absence, much to the delight of fellow WTA stars.
Eugenie Bouchard teases New Balance x Bandier collaboration

New Balance, one of the most popular shoe brands in sports, has chosen Eugenie Bouchard to be the face of their new campaign. Titled ‘Her Advantage’, it is their collaboration with Bandier, the activewear retailer from New York.
The ‘Her Advantage’ collection presents active apparel designed to empower women on the court, as well as off it.
“Both the campaign and collection were designed to empower women to feel strong and confident, and that’s something that’s always been important to me on and off the tennis court,” said Bouchard.

Genie posted the images on her Instagram profile, and she definitely got the internet talking. She also posted a New Balance x Bandier hoodie in the post.

Fellow Canadian star Bianca Andreescu showed her love for the news by commenting with a pair of eyes emoji on the post. 7-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams was not too far behind, either. She expressed her appreciation for the new apparel and Genie sporting it through the fire emoji.
‘Genie’ looks strong as she prepares for her comeback
Genie Bouchard has been off the tennis court since her shoulder injury back in March. Sadly, the gravity of the injury was such that the Canadian star was unable to hold a racket for five months.
That is all set to change, as she sent out a positive update on her health three weeks ago, on her Instagram profile.

The first-ever Canadian-born player to reach a Grand Slam singles final back in 2014, Bouchard revealed that she soon would return to her tennis training as well.

Even though this means that fans are quite unlikely to see ‘Genie’ on tour in Melbourne in January next year, the entire tennis world waits with bated breath for her return to the court.
