The legendary tennis star is gearing up to host the ESPY Awards in Los Angeles, and among the many excited people, Alexis is definitely at the top of the list.

Taking to his Instagram story, Ohanian was flaunting his new hairdo ahead of the event. He further remarked that his new look is for the ESPY Awards that his wife is going to host. “Ready for the ESPY’s,” he says in the short video that he put on his Instagram. In yet another story, viewers can see a dressed-up Ohanian as he mentions that he is gearing up for the “big day.”

“All right. On my way to ESPYs. See you on the carpet,” Ohanian remarked in the following story. The American entrepreneur’s Instagram stories have made it clear that he will be present to cheer up his wife, Serena Williams, as she hosts the event on Thursday. What can be better for the tennis star who is nervous ahead of the event?

Speaking to ABC about hosting the award show, Serena Williams revealed being intimidated by large crowds. “I’ve been in rehearsals and it’s going OK,” she said. “I don’t know. Oh, my God, I’m definitely nervous!” Earlier, the organizers announced that the 23-time Grand Slam winner would be the voice of the event. 

Over her successful career, Williams—an iconic figure in tennis—has won twelve ESPY Awards. She has received 10 awards for being the best female tennis player and two, in 2003 and 2013, for being the best female athlete. She will now become the fourth female host of the ESPY televised presentation in its two-decade history, adding another honor to her resume and demonstrating her impact both on and off the court. Besides Ohanian, Serena Williams is also expected to be cheered by an old friend, Meghan Markle.

The ESPY Award organizers revealed last month that Prince Harry will be honored at the 2024 ESPY Awards. The Duke of Sussex is set to be honored with the Pat Tillman Award for Service in recognition of his creation of the Invictus Games. Since 2014, these games have provided wounded service members with the opportunity to compete in Olympic-style sporting events. This signals the presence of his wife Meghan Markle as well at the event.

Markle and Williams have shared a close bond with each other for more than a decade. Having first met in 2010 at the Super Bowl, they became close friends after they met again in 2014, at another Super Bowl. The duo have often spoken about each other on various public platforms. In fact, Markle had written about Williams in her popular blog, The Tig, in August 2014. “She quickly became a confidante I would text when I was traveling, the friend I would rally around for her tennis matches.”

As Serena Williams gets the support of friends and family members while presenting, it will be exciting to see her in a new role. If she masters this as well in a way similar to her on-court prowess, we might see another addition to her already humungous resume.
