“I like to partner with things that are an extension of myself,” Remember when Coco Gauff said this last year, hinting at her sharp business acumen? Well, the 21-year-old tennis sensation is now making waves off the court in a whole new way. In 2023 alone, according to Forbes, Gauff raked in an estimated $15 million off the court! All thanks to powerhouse deals with brands like New Balance, Bose, Carol’s Daughter, Naked Smoothies, and even Rolex. And now, she’s unveiling an exciting new chapter in her entrepreneurial journey: one that comes with a bold move—breaking a 12-year partnership! So, what’s the story behind Coco’s latest business adventure?

Since the age of 13, Tony Godsick, the mastermind behind Team8, has guided the American third seed: the elite sports agency he co-founded with none other than Roger Federer in 2013. Godsick, who has managed Federer’s business empire since 2005, brings decades of expertise, having worked with tennis legends like Monica Seles, Lindsay Davenport, and Anna Kournikova during his tenure at IMG. While he continues to shape Gauff’s long-term trajectory, her day-to-day affairs are handled by Alessandro Barel Di Sant Albano, who also represents rising American star Ben Shelton.

But the former US Open champion isn’t just following the path laid out for her, she’s creating her own. The 21-year-old recently shared thrilling news about expanding her entrepreneurial footprint, proving that her talents extend beyond the tennis court.

Trying to figure that out” Coco Gauff reflects on her on-court performance after her latest Miami Open loss

Coco Gauff’s Miami Open campaign ended in a shocking R16 defeat a couple of weeks ago, as 34th-ranked Magda Linette stunned the American ace 6-4, 6-4. The home favorite, who had dominated earlier rounds, struggled with 12 double faults and 45 unforced errors: an uncharacteristic performance for the resilient star. Just days prior, Gauff dismantled Sofia Kenin with a ruthless 6-0, 6-0 win and powered past Maria Sakkari. Yet, under pressure, inconsistency emerged, halting Coco’s momentum. This unexpected exit leaves fans questioning what went wrong for the 9-time WTA singles champion, proving that even the best can falter when precision wavers.

“It wasn’t great today. It hasn’t been the last few weeks. I’m trying to figure that out. Definitely not happy about it. Just one of those days when I felt awful in everything on the court,” Coco added after the match
